T’is the Season! + some land notes

This release welcomes the winter holidays back with a few new additions and the return of some seasonal exclusives; read on to learn more!

Available seperately or together as a fatpack, this product is mod/copy, so it’s easy to stretch and squish to fit your build. Just adjust the texture repeat to fit proportionately. Each pack comes with five garland shapes and a double-ribboned red bow. Check them out in-store or on the Marketplace at your convenience!

These sculptie ornaments have historically only been available in-store at Organica during the holiday season. While they have returned to the shop this year, they’re also permanently available on the Marketplace. Each pack includes 8 coloured ornaments, mod/copy. They are 1 LI each and beautifully detailed with hand-painted textures and baked lighting. Mod, copy, transfer, requires SL 1.21 or newer for viewing. Available in-store or on the Marketplace.

These Alpine trees are perfect for your temperate or boreal-themed area! This pack includes both evergreen and winter foliage, scripted and unscripted. Standing 17m tall, these trees are a low 8LI at packaged size. Available in-store or on the Marketplace.

Some housekeeping notes about Organica:

– Oak 6 has been retired from display on the grounds. A vendor is still available but you’ll need to send me an IM to check out Oak 6 if you need to see it ‘in the round’.

– Winter has hit the main store area, and I’ve updated the dirt road pack with an appropriate winter texture. Those of you who purchased this pack already will have received an update earlier today. If you accidentally declined or didn’t receive the update, please contact me directly for redelivery.

SUYS November 2012

Just as a quick note:

Organica is participating in SUYS this weekend!

This product will be available for only L$150 until Nov 19, 2012! It includes a cafe table, chairs (with animations), wine & glasses, coffee mug, dishware, cutlery, candle and various pastries. Click the candle to turn the flame on/off.  Mod, copy, no transfer.

Available in-store only until Nov 19, after which I’ll put it up on Marketplace too.

Around the World Event + new prefab now available

Starting on Thursday, Nov 15, The Ego Co’s special event ‘Around the World’ will take place at Westfield sim. While it’s not open yet, here’s a sneak peak at some of the special themed items I’ve made for Organica’s booth there!

I drew ‘Asia Major, which ATW designates as Russia and surrounding countries, so I chose to focus on two aspects of Russian culture.

Most people will be familiar with Matryoshka or ‘nesting’ dolls – usually they’re a series of painted dolls carved from a single block of wood, all successively smaller than the last. Traditionally they are paintings of Russian women, but themes can range from fairy tails to politicians; in this case, I chose to experiment with using the gourd-shape to define a series of animals from around the world.

This product comes with five unique dolls, each 1LI at packaged size. They come both closed and in two parts which you can de-link and assemble as you like.  Mod, copy, no transfer. Only available at Around The World for the duration of the event (Nov 15 to 29 2012).

Suprematism was an art movement based on simple geometric forms and limited colours to portray artistic feeling rather than illustrating actual objects. One of the pioneers of this style was Kasimir Malevich, whose work has roots in cubist, futurist and modernist art; while I recognize a bit of the irony in taking inspiration from his work, I chose to work with the form of a table to explore it as a canvas and hopefully that comes through here.

This item is 2LI at packaged size and it’s mod, copy, no transfer.  Only available at Around The World for the duration of the event (Nov 15 to 29 2012).

These two furniture sets are not based around any specific facet of Russian culture. Instead they are intended to compliment existing offerings and would look great with the Malevich coffee table! Each set comes separately or as a fatpack in one of three colours and includes both full size and petite size versions. Both of these sets focus on both single and couples animations, so you’re encouraged to give these items a try in-store! They range from 2-3LI at packaged size and are mod, copy, no transfer. Since they are being released at Around the World, they’ll be there exclusively for the duration of the event but, like all of the other ATW items, they’ll make their way back to the Organica main store at the end of the month.

Come see all of the above Around The World event releases at Organica’s booth, here!

(starting Nov 15 2012)

Finally, here’s a release I made earlier last week but didn’t have a chance to discuss until now.  This fire-hall is a highly detailed, fully mesh construction, featuring lovely exterior moulding work, detailed hand-painted textures with baked lighting, a fire pole, lovely spiral staircase and high, commercial-grade ceilings across three full floors. This build is wonderful for any metropolitan area and functions well as both a conventional fire-hall as well as a renovated and repurposed hall for residential use. Available in-store and on the Marketplace now! Mod, copy, no transfer (with some no-mod scripts).

New flowers & Halloween release

As we draw closer to Halloween, there’s one more themed release for your interest, along with some new ground-cover!

Newest in a line of suspiciously characteristic trees comes Ol’ Creepy Tree #4. This highly detailed new tree features both hand-painted textures and baked lighting. It also comes in two parts (the main tree and the roots) linked together, so you can adjust the two parts to fit your land easier. 15 LI as packaged, mod, copy, no transfer. Available in store or on the Marketplace here.

These new flowers are sure to freshen up your garden! Available in 8 varieties, both separate and as a fatpack, they are mesh and come with 4 shapes to fit various terrain. An option wind movement script is also included – just drop it in to the object and remove if you wish – it will set texture animation parameters (which doesn’t require an active script to run once it’s all set up). 1 LI as packaged, mod, copy, no transfer. Available in-store or on the Marketplace.

Cheshire Cats hit Wilds of Organica for Halloween!

Yeah, it’s been about a week since the initial wave of kittens showed up, but given the impending festive costume season, I figured I’d put these out rather than wait for some new year 😉

So again, these are mesh kitten avatars that come with customizable eyes (with control HUD), whiskers, and tail.

Just as a heads-up: these are full-bright but they’re pretty dark to begin with. Play around with that full-bright checkbox to see what you prefer. Some interesting effects can also be found by making the avatar transparent.

These avatars can be picked up in-store and now on the Marketplace!

Multiple seat issue – updates to follow in next couple of days.

To all who recently purchased furniture from Organica which includes multiple seating:

Due to a recent change, likely as the result of pathfinding being added to SL, many of you may find that multiple seating for mesh objects no longer works properly.  While all items of furniture were checked at time of packaging, it now appears that this functionality is broken. For more details, please see https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-8210 .

A temporary fix has been identified and will be sent out within the next couple of days once I have been able to test and check for permissions on all items to be redelivered, however as the result of this temporary fix, you may notice a slight change in prim count depending on the item being redelivered. This is not ideal, however it is a necessary fix until such time that Linden Lab can fix this problem.

Items affected:

[ Organica ] Lush Plush Couch (all colours), both sizes.

[ Organica ] Park Bench 2

[ Organica ] Two Hearts Loveseat

In the mean time, please take the time to make sure Linden Lab knows how important this issue is to you by clicking on the JIRA link above and voting/watching the issue.  While mesh is still relatively new to the grid, it has the potential to become (if it has not yet already) the preferred kind of item, over and above regular prims or sculpts. While there is a workaround to this problem, the fact remains that many existing products will be affected and the temporary fix has the potential to affect prim count, causing existing promotional material to become no longer accurate.

Let the cuteness commence; Five reasons to drop by this week!

The first set of kittens from Wilds of Organica are now available! They are mesh-based tinies that are rigged to automatically fit your avatar and animations.

This round features a variety of tabby furs; more furry looks are on their way.

Each avatar includes mesh avatar body, tail, whiskers and customizable eyes with HUD.

For full details about these new avatars, check out the WoO Kitten info page, which includes info about operation, customization, FAQ & EULA.

Much thanks to moo Money , KTSyakumi (testing) and Neobokrug Elytis (scripting) for their help on this project!

Drop on by the main shop today to check them out!
