Organica New Releases – June 2020

Having moved to my current home in late 2018, I have since been thinking of ways in which I could better make my back yard work for my needs. As I may have discussed in the past, having a yard was pretty important to me because I needed space to develop my bonsai hobby and be comfortable in my container gardening in general.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about DIY alternatives to buying greenhouses, and making such a design work within my available funds and space. I’m not sure that I would be able to start on such a project right away if I did have the money, but I’ve been finding it helpful to plan things out and figure out the pricing ahead of time.

This greenhouse came out of that line of development. It’s probably not the solution I will end up with if I do move ahead, but I’m happy that I was still able to come up with a solution *someone* might be able to work with. (Plus I can *make* it work for my situation in-world too, right? 😉 )

Anyhow, this package includes a version of the same greenhouse oriented such that the door is on one or the other side, making placement a bit more flexible.

Of note: Because of the semi-transparent plastic texture, I recommend that any plants placed inside or adjacent to this building have their textures switched from Alpha Blending to Alpha Masking, so as to avoid alpha texture laying issues (where one texture sometimes appears to supercede others in front of it).

Both houses are 10LI and mod/copy, with a copy-only door script, which can be removed if need be.

These watering cans are unscripted props that are great, simple additions to your garden. Four colours available, 1 LI each, mod/copy.

Organica has had field-type ferns for a while – I was out in my garden the other day and realized it would be helpful to have some that grew more in clusters or were more suitable for container plantings.

These come with three plant shapes (young, growing, mature), where the fronds can be found in a variety of growth periods to best fit what you want to place them with. I’ve also accessorized with a hanging and standing planter, but they would do fine planted in the ground or in a raised bed as well, for example.

All pieces run from 1-2 LI each at packaged size.

All of these releases are available in-store now!

Specifically, the ferns and watering cans can be found here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Organica/109/60/29

and the greenhouses can be found here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Organica/78/52/29

All three products are also now available up on my Marketplace listing, here.

New Mesh Plants and Hedges!

New this week are a couple of great additions to your garden!

Flowers aren’t always necessary to introduce colour to your garden – Begonias come in a wide range of looks and here are a handful of them to start with. Included are both the individual plants as well as a version of them potted in a wooden planter. Each has a unique set of materials, featuring detailed bump maps and hand-painted diffuse textures, so please do be sure to enjoy these with Advanced Lighting Model turned on in your viewer.

Available as singles or in a fatpack, mod, copy, no transfer, both on Marketplace as well as in-store.

Additionally, here’s a new set of hedge pieces made for carefully groomed gardens! Mingi Mingi are dense bushes from New Zealand that feature small leaves and small berries. Pieces range from 1-3 LI ea, materials optimized, and are mod, copy, no transfer. Available both on Marketplace as well as in-store.

Additionally, both the calathea plants as well as the new Altadore bedroom set are now available on Marketplace as well!

Grass Tops, Hyacinth and Morning Glory now available!

Grass Tops

This newest offering from Organica has been a long time in development. Back a few years ago, I released a couple of Erosion sets, which serve to create transitions between higher and lower terrain, offering opportunities to create a terraced effect between land & land as well as land & water. At the time, the greatest aim was to create such items such that LI could be kept low. With those goals in mind, the erosion sets have gone on to do very well.

With that said, I’ve since received requests for similar items with grassy fringe, which would create a better blend between the top texture and the rock texture, so I’ve taken some time to create and test a new set of grassy top items, as follows:

GrassTop-vender

These pieces range from 1-9 LI at packaged size – This is a bit higher in some cases than the original erosion sets, however with the increased degree of geometry, it is unavoidable. (If LL offered the opportunity for content creators to apply an alpha mask to a material separate from a diffuse texture, we would be able to make further LI savings, however that appears to be outside the scope of potential tool development at this time). These items feature baked soil/rock texture and the usual leafy texture that is offered with the original erosion pieces by default. All pieces have a tapered edge for easier blending and placement. As with the erosion sets, you can also apply your own terrain texture if you wish. Six shapes are included to give you the most flexibility while landscaping. Check them out in-world here or on Marketplace here!

Additionally, two new types of flower are now available!

Organica at The Home Show

Starting tomorrow (July 1, 2013), along with 47 other Home and Garden shops,  Organica will be participating in The Home Show, which runs from July 1 thru 31 at Le Petite Roche and Argentina Amor sims.

Four new items will be exclusive for the duration of the event and are as follows:

HangingIvyPlanter1-vendor

 HangingBambooPlanter1-vendor

Both of the above items are great for indoor or outdoor use. They are each 1LI and being mesh, require at least a mesh-capable viewer. Fill in those empty corners or perhaps divide up a large empty space? Or maybe hang from the eaves of your new home? Additionally, while both of these look great already, you can further decrease alpha flickering by using a materials-enabled viewer and enabling ‘advanced lighting’. Mod, copy, no transfer.

Cameron-Vendor

Snapshot_008 Snapshot_005 Snapshot_004

This new building features three fully built floors, detailed textures, a cafe on the ground floor and a loft on the upper floors. It’s 120LI at packaged size (unfurnished) with a 12.5x36m footprint. You’ll also be able to preview this new building on-site at Organica. Mod, copy, no transfer, with some copy-only scripts.

Finally,

EspressoMachine-red-vendor

EspressoMachine-black-vendor EspressoMachine-blue-vendor EspressoMachine-white-vendor

These new espresso machines are currently props and would be great additions to any cafe, restaurant or home kitchen. Included in each package is a regular and materials optimised edition – while the product features quality baked textures, the addition of materials allows for more realistic metal gleam and overall more quality glossiness. 1LI at packaged size, mod, copy, no transfer.

Find all of these items and MORE in Organica’s booth at The Home Show!

2 days left on Four Walls Hunt + 2 Spring releases!

While you’re here, be sure to check out two new releases, as detailed below:
lilyofthevalley-mesh-vendor
The next instalment in spring flowers from Organica are these dainty but detailed mesh flowers! At 1 LI per piece, there are three shapes included to provide variety. Rez in your garden on their own or as complimentary units alongside the fields of lily-of-the-valley. Mod, copy, no transfer. Available in-world and on the Marketplace.

Cherry4-Vendor

These new mesh cherry trees are stunning additions to any outdoor area; included are four different foliage options, plus a particle emitting version and a version for foliage change. Available in-world and on the Marketplace.

New Coleus plants + Rock walls now available

Brighten up your garden with these brilliant coleus plants!  Each one is 3LI with or without the pot, and sports vibrant hand-drawn foliage with realistic lighting and detailing. Ten varieties are available either individually or as a fatpack. Mod/copy/no transfer. Requires mesh capable viewer. ( Buy in Store ) ( Buy on Marketplace )

These rock walls have been requested somewhat regularly since i first started using them at Home Expo. While I wasn’t ready to offer them then, I’ve finished up the things I wanted to do with them and now make them available for you.

To use: Simply rez and move up against areas where you’d like a rock wall. Do note: these items do not have backsides in order to cut down on LI and reduce viewer resource use. To give these items a backside, consider duplicating and facing the other way, using other prims or backing these items up against terrain.

Available mod/copy/no transfer. Requires mesh capable viewer. ( Buy in store ) ( Buy on Marketplace )

Blog change & new releases

Organica has been around for quite a while – since October of 2007 in fact! But did you know Organica Specialty Trees is affiliated with an accessory shop as well?

In fact, Kitheres Industries was my first project! Some time last year I decided to consolidate the shop and move it to a single spot located at Fort Stygian in The Wastelands. For a number of different reasons, however, it had to be put on the backburner and I haven’t really had the chance to add to the shop until recently. I’ve added a new product and I’ll talk about that in a sec.

I’ve decided not to keep two seperate blogs for updates and will be posting about both brands on this blog from now on. I will not be combining the subscriber groups, so if you are only subscribed to one brand, you will only recieve notifications for posts which contain relevant material. You are, of course, welcome to sign up for notifications for both.

The blog has been renamed ‘Kitheres and Organica’, which more accurately reflects my branding on Marketplace, however in-world both brands will operate as usual. Over the next few weeks, I will be sorting out proper categories for existing Organica posts and recently imported Kitheres posts, so hopefully things will remain organized and accessible to all.

With that said, let’s get to the new releases!

Kitheres:

Spatterdashery Boots are named such because they include a belt-bound spat along the length of the lower leg, covering the ankle region and reaching upwards, providing added material for the wearer.  These grungey boots are great for everyday wear and especially optimized for use in crowds due to their relatively low draw weight compared to comparable sculpt products. Available in three colours, these boots are 100% mesh modelled and textured from scratch. Left unrigged for easy resizing, the boots are mod/copy and contain removable resizer scripts – so you can use the script to resize the boots for you if you’re not confident with building things (then remove the script once you’re done) or you can remove the script entirely and just resize the boots as needed using build tools. ( Buy in store ) ( Buy on Marketplace: DemoCharcoalHazelOliveFatpack )

Organica:

Organica has joined Spruce Up Your Space and will be a participating merchant this weekend!

This Elm tree is wonderfully lush and detailed – it’s a great item to help create shade and atmosphere to a mature looking landscape! Full mesh, includes three foliage colours both scripted and unscripted. As this is a mesh product, you’ll need a mesh viewer to view.

This item will be available mod/copy on sale for L$150 for this weekend only! This introductory price will go away after Sunday, when I’ll add back a mod/transfer edition, so be sure to pick this one up before the sale ends! (Please note: sale is in-store only! This product will be added to the Marketplace next week 🙂 )

Other non-sale releases:

As mesh items with no transparencies, they don’t conflict with water surface rendering or other plants which use transparency, so they work really well as highlight pieces right next to the existing Cattail 1 set! This product includes two shapes for variety and each piece is 1 land impact at the size packaged. ( Buy in store ) ( Buy on Marketplace )

This new park bench is a wonderful addition to every outdoor area! Carefully modelled and textured, this bench seats and animates up to three people. Includes attachable book. Full mesh, so be sure to use a mesh capable viewer! Mod / Copy ( Buy in store ) ( Buy on Marketplace )

Two new releases, more land now available

Another offering in the recent line of plants suitable for tropical or indoor environments, rubber plants are so-named because they are part of a larger family of plants which excrete a milky-white latex which can be used to create rubber. This package comes with two varieties, burgundy and green. As packaged, each plant is 3 LI. The included planter (with two plants) comes out to 7LI at packaged size. This is a mesh product, so you’ll need a  mesh capable client to view. Mod, Copy, No Transfer. ( Buy in Store ) ( Buy on Marketplace )

This set of bamboo (two units pictured in vendor) is an excellent choice for landscaping tight spaces in the Japanese theme or for populating a fuller bamboo forest if you prefer. Packaged at 6LE, they are a great low impact solution to add an Eastern ambience to your home.  Mod, Copy, No Transfer ( Buy in Store ) ( Buy on Marketplace )

Additional Note: Bamboo 1 has been discounted and moved to the plant shop as it is more correctly classified grass and not a tree.
